Writing Prompts: Cobwebbed Window

This fabulous leaded and stained glass window is in an outbuilding at Godolphin NT near Helston in Cornwall. This property had some fabulous doors and windows and a few of them will feature over the coming weeks. This window in particular caught my eye with the light shining through it which captured the intricacies of the spider webs in the unused building.

“People are like stained-glass windows. They sparkle and shine when the sun is out, but when the darkness sets in, their true beauty is revealed only if there is a light from within.”

Elisabeth Kübler-Ross

Imagine you are in this room looking out. Why are you in that room? Are you trapped? What emotions are you experiencing? Describe the way the sunlight streams in through the glass. Do you long to be outside in the garden feeling the warmth of the sun on your face? Does the window reflect the soul of yourself or another?
